We stayed at the Real de Chapala this week and were extremely disappointed. We have stayed at other times, but not for a while. While the hotel has raised their prices considerably, there has been no effort to maintain the rooms. The bathrooms in particular are in serious need of remodeling. Tiles are chipped and faded, and many of the tubs and sinks no longer have the trap to keep the water in. Not much point in having a tub if you can't contain the water to actually take a bath. The room we had this time was also very dirty. We needed to move the table slightly, and the amount of crumbs that had obviously been swept under the table instead of being swept up was disgusting. We were also disappointed that the screen on the patio door was not the least bit effective at keeping out the bugs, and there was no fan available. We had to close the patio door to keep bugs out and then suffered from the heat as there was no air circulation whatsoever. When we visit Chapala and Ajijic next time, we are going to look for another place to stay. The amount they charge is not worth it, though the view is nice.

La verdad es muy triste ver que tienen el mismo tipo de habitaciones que hace 15 años que fui, las habitaciones ya se ven viejas, pasadas de moda y sobre todo nada confortables.
Creo que les hace falta una muy buena remodelacion y más aun estando en un punto donde llega tanto extranjero.

Este hotel es de lo mas agradable que he conocido y mira que he viajado por el mundo, lo que mas impresiona son los jardines tan bien tratados, espero que al personal encargado de las areas verdes se le retribuya muy bien, por que se lo merecen, regresare pronto para deleitarme con esa vista tan maravillosa que tiene al inmenso lago de Chapala y felicidades por el servicio en general.
